A deeply emotional Hindi poem about betrayal, abandonment, and hypocrisy. The poet questions the absence of someone close during moments of pain, struggle, and humiliation, while others mocked wounds, blamed the sufferer, and took advantage of vulnerability. The repeated phrase “Where were you?” intensifies the feeling of heartbreak and disappointment.
