Over the past few years, journalism and media have gone through a lot of changes.
Earlier, the primary aim and motto of media and journalism was to bring out information, facts and truths from all over the world honestly. It was considered a powerful weapon in democracy.
But in current times, the chief aim is to compete with their rival team or increase their TRP. In other words, the real essence has lost somewhere.
Mostly Media channels are controlled by the government or business organizations. They reflect what they are paid to.
The facts provided are manipulated, fake and inaccurate.
They make the viewers and audiences to believe whatever is being served to them.
The genuine fact is twisted to such an extent that it is difficult for a person to identify the difference.
Today’s Media seems to be distracted or diverted from their roots.
The biggest concern is that the media has failed to uphold the basic values.
People of the country are facing so many crises, tribulations and sufferings but media is busy highlighting and praising government's work and efforts.
No media talks about unemployment, farmers’ condition, plight of rural areas, illegal constructions, decreasing GDP, rising prices of commodities etc. which badly impact a common man.
Media is considered a common man’s voice but seems they are now the voice of political parties.
However, there are some examples, where if media hadn’t intervened, actual facts wouldn’t have surfaced. A particular case has resulted in so many dark revelations.
What I mean to say is that rather than focussing on a single issue, they ought to aim on other woes and adversities prevailing in the country.
At last, its vital to use our own wisdom, check the facts, not to pay attention to all the fake news stories or misinformation and rely only on the unbiased sources and links.
