A letter to my late granny.

Dear Badi Amma,

We never met as you started your journey to other world even before I was born.But I know a lot about you.

I was told you delivered twelve kids of which only three survived.That time you didn't know the reason of their death.You were not aware of the word PANDEMIC.It was dreadful disease that took your pieces of heart away.

Amma, today we are facing the same situation you were in a century back.

We are losing our beloved ones due to COVID 19 .We all wear mask and are bounded in our homes during lockdown.We are living a life in fear.The agony of not able to meet our adored ones is eating us within.

But I know you have felt all this.You were always masked...the veil that never allowed you to see or breathe freely.The male dominance that never permitted you to speak.You lived in lockdown throughout your life.You were adapted to survive in restrictions. I thought of telling you about our pain through this letter instead I realised your agony.The sufferings you faced not due to a pandemic but for being a woman.
