Eid Mubarak Bakrid

What is the most important message of Eid Mubarak? Why is it called the feast of sacrifice? If you don't know the reason behind this feast of sacrifice, then this article is for you.

Thousands of years ago a rich landlord called Abraham lived happily with his beautiful wife, Sarah. He had everything any man could ask for; land, cattle, gold and innumerable servants.

The only gift he never had, crossed the possible circumstances of having it and desired it all the more was a heir, a son, a seed to continue his lineage.

God did reward his unfailing faith and blessed him with a son in his 100th age. Then came the real test. God asked him to sacrifice his one and only child Isaac and guess what, Abraham agreed.

He took Isaac to a mountain to sacrifice him and just in time God stopped him and gave a ram instead for sacrifice.

Abraham dared to sacrifice the one thing that he cared about the most in his entire life. He made the sacrifice in his mind long before he climbed the mountain. To honour the highest extent of sacrifice a human can make is why we celebrate Bakrid as a feast of sacrifice. With having shared the history behind the festival, I wish all of you a very happy Eid Mubarak.
