Yesterday I went to a nearby departmental store to collect some essentials. There came a boy, obviously underweight for his age, in his old rusted bicycle hesitantly approached the shop owner and asked in a feeble voice whether the refill pack hand-wash worth ₹25 is available. The shop owner said he had only packs of ₹50 and more in stock.
The boy left with a look of disappointment. Just then the other worker in the shop told, he had seen the boy an hour before asking for hand-wash near his house. Now this worker's home was atleast a kilometre away from this shop.
I could only imagine the situation of the boy. He could be the only boy or the man of the household. He realises the situation and wants to protect his family and himself from this dangerous pandemic but all he had was ₹25.
As much as we take care to stay safe and clean, don't forget the plight of the poor in these tough times. There could be so many people just like this little boy in your surroundings. Help others in any way you can.
