"ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਬੇਬੇ!"

"ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਤ। ਕੁੱਝ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰੇ ਕੌਣ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੋ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਦੇ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਡਾਕੀਆ!"

"ਪ੍ਰੀਤੋ......, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਓ ਤੇ ਬੇਬੇ।"

ਇੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਵੇਖੀ ਤੇ ਨੱਸ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ। 

"ਨੀ ਜਗਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ..... ਤੇਰੇ ਪੇਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਰਜੀ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਆਪਾ ਨੂੰ ਘਰੇ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ।" 

ਜਗਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਉਰਫ਼ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੋ ਸੋਚੀ ਪੈ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਇੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, "ਆਪਣੇ ਬੇਟੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿੱਤੀ, ਹੁਣ ਜਦੋਂ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦੇ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਛੱਡੀ ਨਾ"
