Love Forever

Peeking out of the window, Alia gazed at the vast blue sky. The smell of fresh air and greenery soothed her mind.

She was still waiting for a message or a call that was the last hope for her. 

"How can I be so irresponsible, it was something very precious for me.

 The precious cassette broke yesterday night but, thankfully there was a copy of it somewhere far away.

 Nikhil, her school friend had one, and she was sure she would get it. 

 She didn't want to contact him but, atlast, she mustered some courage and sent an email to him yesterday as this was the only way to contact him.

It's been 3 years, they haven't met. After completing graduation they parted. In Fact, she went away from his life as Sanaya had compelled her to go far away from their (Nikhil and Sanaya's ) lives.

Sanaya was the daughter of Nikhil's father's family friend. She disliked Alia from the very first day she was introduced to her as she couldn't see them together.

However Nikhil and Alia had never confessed their love for each other but, they both had a liking in the corner of their hearts.

 Alia dreamt to be a playback singer and Nikhil had always supported her.

 Once, he persuaded Aliya to participate in a singing contest held by the college.

 Luckily, she won.

Nikhil recorded Alia's voice in a copy, kept one copy with him and handed over the other to her so that she could send it to a well-known music director for a career break.

She had to record her voice and send the cassette to the well-known music director for future breaks.

 But Aliya couldn't send it as she had left the college due to the mess created by Sanaya.

 At present, Alia was in Dehradun as she  was getting a golden break in her career, once again.

 She had already regretted losing the chance earlier, but now, she didn't want to do so.

She was waiting for the reply with crossed fingers.

She came out of her reverie with a knock at the door.

She hurriedly marched towards the door to open and Nikhil was there, right in front of him.

 Both freezed at first. Not a single movement in their bodies but, their eyes seemed to have all the talks.

Nikhil handed over the cassette to Aliya and conveyed his best wishes to her.

As he was about to turn Alia hugged him tightly from behind.

"I knew you would come!"

 "Yes, how couldn't I? You are still my love Alia!!

"But Sanaya?"

"She wasn't my love, in fact, I came to know later about how she behaved with you. You could have come to me, once! All these years, I kept wondering, how could you do this to me? I had no way to find or contact you. So stupid I am!  Why never it hit my mind that we both shared our Emails?"

"Yes, you are stupid and you were stupid. That time too, you never ever gathered the courage to confess your love."

Both laughed, holding each other's hands, and this time forever.
