Humanity.

Says humanity,

Long ago, when I existed,

peace and harmony was all I witnessed.

Endless love and peace everywhere,

no place for fear and despair.

Religion and caste never mattered,

in hearts, bells of joy echoed.

Birth of a girl child was considered a blessing,

women had the right to live in dignity.

Neighbours always ready to help in distress...

elders were given due honour and respect.

Trust and sacrifice, now vanished from hearts,

 judgements....criticism kills people every hour.

Under one roof all behave stranger,

among countries prevail war and terror.

Oh human beings on earth! 

my heart aches to see the plight,

In your heart no longer do I reside, it pains

Come, stand together, make this world,

 a better place.
