‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ which means educ Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is a social campaign launched by the Government of India; It aims to create awareness and improve the effectiveness of various welfare services offered for girls. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao is a international popular campaign that has woke many people in India and around the world; It has widened the minds of thousands who differentiate between a girl and a boy. Under this campaign, one of the districts called Pithoragarh, located in Uttarakhand, India, has taken several steps towards curbing girls and facilitating their education. The scheme was launched on 22 January 2015 by the current Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The scheme intends to address the issue of declining image of CSR (child sex ratio) and is a national program run in collaboration with Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Women and Child Development and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.


According to census data, the CSR (child sex ratio) of 0–4-year-old children in India was only 92 data girls per 1000 boys in 2001, which had fallen drastically in 2011 and 4 for every 1000 boys in 2011. 1 for girls left. Report, 2012 India was ranked 41st among 195 countries with such an imbalance ratio.

In 2014, while addressing the nation on the occasion of Rashtriya Balika Divas, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi appealed for the eradication of female feticide and invited views from citizens of India through the 'ov MyGov.in' portal.

There are many people who support the campaign and the innovative hashtag W # SelfieWithDaughter'became is highly popular on social media which was started by the sarpanch (head) of Bibipur village in Haryana; She herself took a selfie (selfie clicked photo) with her daughter and posted on one of the social platforms 'Facebook' in 2015. This gesture was highly appreciated and subsequently appreciated by many people across the world.

BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO is run in favor of women and focuses on women's empowerment and development. The declining ratio of girls to child sex ratio (CSR) is a major indicator of women's unemployment. CSR includes both prenatal inequality through pre-gender gender selection and post-birth inequality against the girl. Social discrimination towards girls and easy affordability and misuse of diagnostic tools has resulted in a significant reduction in female feticide and eventually a declining proportion of girls in CSR.
