Humanity is my religion

I wonder why there's so much hype about religion in India.

People seem to have forgotten that religion was made by the people for the people of the same thought process to unite & live together in peace. Since it was made by people I believe religion should be a matter of choice not something that is inherited.

We were born as humans, it's just that we belong to different religions because we ended up being born in different families (not a choice we made). What I see happening is people proving that their religion is better than someone else's just because they have taken birth in a family that follows that religion.

Instead of trying to prove that one is a good Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Christian, etc. isn't it more important to be a good human. A good human would respect all religions, which doesn't mean agreeing to their religious practices, but respecting individual choices, and just living life as per what is right for them. Life is too short for hatred. Live in love with all, irrespective of the religion they follow.
