Makeup is almost used on a daily basis by most women. If not studio quality makeup, people use a basic foundation, lipstick and mascara on a daily basis. And applying makeup regularly may cause damage to your skin in the long run. Once we remove the makeup and cleanse our face completely, skin tends to get dry.

I remove my makeup with a makeup remover or cleansing milk. Wipe off my face neatly. But before washing my face, I apply a generous amount of coconut oil or castor oil and massage my face for about 5-minutes and let it stay on for another 5-minutes. Then wash off with water and soap and moisturize after.

Somehow, doing this after makeup removal and especially, after a hectic day in dust and pollution, helps my skin feel relaxed. It gives moisture to the skin and oil seeps into the skin to give a glow. However I wouldn’t recommend this to people with oily skin, as it tends to make it more oily which may lead to break outs.
