Are we really leading a life which is very filmy?
From pre-wedding shoots, Maternity shoots, baby shoots, daily candid photo-shoots and videos, tiktoks to almost everything we do in our daily life has some touch of glamour to it!
But why? Why is it so necessary for us to post a photo with #OOTD (outfit of the day) on Instagram? I mean who cares, What’s my outfit of the day?.
I believe, it all starts with idolising a celebrity. If I’m a fan of an actor or a model, I am kind of influenced by their fashion sense and lifestyle. I will want to wear something like my favourite celebrity does. We have been so influenced by movies and celebrities that, we have made our regular lifestyle very similar to a 3 hour film.
Photographers doing Pre-wedding shoots are making a fortune. Because the couple wants to be shot in a an exotic location with fancy outfits and makeup and they even want a video with them as the hero and heroine. Glamour is what people like or people like being appreciated for looking glamourous.
What people forget is that these celebrities are paid to do what they do. They are paid to post their #OOTD, because they are wearing a designers outfit which needs to be showcased. It’s their job.
Making videos which are filmy, is only killing art. I’m not saying it’s wrong, but it’s madness right now, with everyone making videos at the drop of a hat.
We as citizens, fail to actually take home with us the essence of a good film and the end up getting influenced only by the glamorous side of it.
Slowly, we need to change this glamorous lifestyle disease. We need not be ashamed to live a normal life. We need not feel left out, if we are not following the social norms.
Sometimes, it’s alright, to stick to your principles and not follow the herd.
