Look beyond what you see!!

You need to look beyond what your bare eyes can see.

We usually say that what we hear and what we see is always true. How can something not be true when we are witnessing it from our own eyes. But the saying goes true. ‘The grass is always greener on the other side’. When we see someone we immediately form a perception about him or her thinking and cooking up stories and assuming things. If a person smiles, it's not mandatory that his life is a bed of roses. Every person has their own set of problems and comparing or commenting is the biggest mistake we commit many a times.

A couple of days ago I saw something which touched me so deeply that my perception towards things literally changed. I was sitting in my car, looking outside at the busy market. From a distance a very old man was walking down the lane. Seeing him I felt bad because he could barely walk, had a stick in his hand and was facing difficulty to cross the busy street. But the good thing was, there was a young boy holding his hand. So just a thought struck me that in his old age he is lucky that at least he has someone who can hold his hand and help him walk. I kept on gazing at them till they came close to where I was.

And the next sight was just heart wrenching. I almost had tears in my eyes looking at what I saw. It was not the young boy who was holding the old man’s hand, rather it was the old man holding the mentally challenged young boy’s hand. What dedication, what will power, what strength in those weak trembling legs. Not only was he supporting himself but he firmly held his child’s hand so that he doesn’t trip somewhere. What I saw was from a distance, but the reality was something else.

How situations give you strength to fight back, how people give you reasons to analyse things. How life teaches you to think and look around that the grass is green on your side too, just that we don’t look around us. Instead we see the far placed things which are so huge, but from a distance seem to be like ants. With every rose there are thorns attached, in every success is hidden a sacrifice, before a ‘start’ there is always a ‘stop’ for everyone!

Perspectives differ, so do people and so do situations. You can only empathize with someone when you stop comparing and assuming. What is real is sometimes hidden from the naked eyes. What is real for you can be a dream world for someone else.

You don’t need everything to enjoy life, you need life to enjoy everything!
