Violence against women

Violence against women countries to be one of the most prevalent and least recognised human rights violations in the world.

Dowry deaths are very common in India where brides are burnt alive for it. In low income groups, beating of women is a common incident which is not even reported.

In India women are tortured if they are unable to give birth to a male child. They are subjected to violence in many homes in India.

In our country women still lag behind men despite some improvement since independence. Ours is male driven or partriarchal society. There are reports of various kinds of harassment, exploitations and violence against women.

They are not safe even within their own home from beating, harassment and otherr forms of domestic violence...
