Summer is Here

The Sun shines fiercely in the sky,

Flashing its burning fiery rays on all going by & by.

The cool caress of the wind is now a hot toasty blast,

Turning everything in its course into a dried withered wisp so fast.

No longer do I crave for a hot cuppa of tea or coffee,

All I desire for are frozen delights, cool sherbets and my favourite cold smoothie.

My closet has had a complete makeover,

The dark heavy winter clothes are gone and the cool pastel colored cottons have taken over.

My daytime walks in the winter Sun are now a thing of the past,

I now dare not set my foot outside until dusk sets in and it's evening at last.

All this I am sure you know is because it's Summer,

Winter left long ago and even the brief Spring is over.

Remember this is just the everlasting cycle of time,

This too shall pass and give way to the lush monsoon cool and sublime.
