Tourism brings in much revenue to a State or a country. The tourism industry needs to be promoted by much advertisement.

Unless a State or a country advertises about the places of tourist interest, people in other States or foreigners may not know about the charms of tourist centers. Ooty and Kodaikanal are famous hill resorts and they are known throughout India and abroad. So tourists throng these places in summer and enjoy the cool climate there. There are high class hotels catering to the taste of the inland tourists and the foreigners.

The flower show at the Botanical Garden of Ooty is a breathtaking scene. Roses of many kinds are on display at the flower show. Many varieties of flowers are on show. Tourists who come in large numbers to the Botanical Garden in the cool atmosphere are extremely happy. There are other places of tourist interest in Tamil Nadu, e.g. the famous, big temples like the Madurai Menasha Amman temple, the Chidambaram Nagarajan temple, the Thanjavur Big Temple etc. Much advertisement should be done about them. The Pichavaram mangrove forest near Chidambaram spread over hundreds of acres is a place to be visited. Tourists can have boat rides in the extensive sea water of the mangrove forest. There is a mangrove forest in the Sunder bans in West Bengal. The Pichavaram forest has not received much publicity.Kerala, God’s own country, has done much publicity about its scenic places like Minar of salubrious climate. The Trekked forest is an ideal tourist resort. Tourists can have boat ride in the Perilya River in the Trekked forest. During the boat ride tourists can have a view of an elephant or two, wild boar, deer or a tiger. It is a very pleasant boat ride. Foreigners visit Trekked in large numbers.

There are many wildlife sanctuaries in India and much advertisement should be done about them. The Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, attracts inland and foreign tourists. Foreigners stay in Indian hotels paying huge rent. Their rent for the hotel and their payment for food and travels in tourists’ vans bring us foreign exchange. Foreign exchange is quite necessary for us.

There are tourists’ departments run by every State Government. They give information to the tourists about the places of tourist interest. Our foreign embassies can do advertisement abroad about the places of tourist interest in India.Many tourists visit tourist spots such as beaches, hill stations, historical and picturesque places, religious and cultural programs and congregations. Tourists are also fond of participating in adventure games and swimming bouts and visiting Sanctuaries of animals and birds and zoos, museums, exhibitions, etc.Tourism has turned out to be a very important industry in the modern age. In almost all the countries of the world there are separate ministries of tourism. Tourist spots are being developed all over the world to attract the tourists. Tourism is, indeed, a good source of earning foreign exchange for every country that can manage it efficiently.

All over the world there is a great interaction between People of different countries, races, communities, regions and religions. Business magnates visit other countries to promote their business. Several newspaper agencies, journalists, scribes, radio and T.V. reports and others connected with mass media have to roam from place to place to trace out essential and interesting matter for reporting purposes.

Most of the tourists, however, are in search of entertainment exploration and adventure, along with which they also want to enhance their knowledge in various fields. Such men and women have to stay in hotels and they often stay in good hotels-five star or others. They are ready to pay adequately for the good food, lodging, comfort given and entertainment provided.
