Contest Start Date: February 22nd, 2022.

Contest End Date: March 10th, 2022.

Choose Topic: Hijab

Details: The hijab has become the subject of a fierce debate in India. Last month, six teenagers at a government-run college in Karnataka's Udupi district began protesting after being barred from classes for wearing headscarves. The issue quickly turned divisive, with Hindu students turning up in colleges wearing saffron shawls and right-wing groups on both sides making provocative statements. Fearing violence, the state government shut down high schools and colleges.

As students prepare to return to classes, young people on both sides of the divide struggle to understand their classmates and friends.

What is your opinion on India becoming an entirely "Hindu" country or accepting religions liberally like years before? If not assessed from a political angle, should India become a "Hijab" free country?

Please share your entries in your language to make the rewarding process exciting. We are open to all the official regional languages of India and can't wait to gift your loved ones a special gift from Paperwiff.
