Machine Learning is an application of Artificial Intelligence. It sets up the “New Capability of Computers”.

The Various Example of Machine Learning are as follows:

1.      Database Mining: Large Data set from growth of automation and web. For example: Web Click Data, Medical Records, Biology and Engineering

2.      Autonomous Helicopter

3.      Handwriting Recognition

4.      Most of Natural Language Processing

5.      Computer Vision

Machine Learning is also responsible for Self Customizing Program. Self Customizing Programs are found in various applications such as Amazon and Netflix. It is being program based on user experience with that application.

Machine learning means understanding human learning (AI Concepts). The two scientist defined Machine Learning as follows:

Arthur Samuel defined “Machine Learning as a field of study that gives computer an ability to learn without being explicitly programmed”.

In 1959, Tom Mitchell defined, “Machine Learning as a well posed learning program. A computer program is said to learn from experience E with respect to some task T and some performance measure P, if it is performance on T, as measured by P, improve with experience”.

Example: playing checkers.

E = the experience of playing many games of checkers

T = the task of playing checkers.

P = the probability that the program will win the next game.
