Dated....
So, finally today is the last night here at my home and I would be witnessing a new day... a new rising sun..... in my new home, of course with the new identity!
I spent my golden 25 years with my parents and now suddenly it will no longer be my house!!
Whenever I visited my nani's house with my mother, she was treated as a VIP guest of the house and received a warm welcome.
She often complaint that why after marriage, things are not same for a girl in her own house, Mayka?
Whenever my mother entered the kitchen to help my nani in cooking, she would object saying, go my daughter and enjoy the vacations, take complete rest as you are just here for few days!
No more scoldings or arguments from her mother's side.
No more quarrels with her brothers. She would receive much more than her wish. She felt as she is not their dear daughter anymore.
The unconditional love of parents suddenly seemed to be full of formalities.
They would hide their difficulties, won't discuss any issue and never asked for suggestions or opinions from their daughter anymore, like she has no more right on them.
They were cautious with their each and every word and action regarding their daughter...
They ensured, not a single mistake occur on their behalf so as to avoid any sort of resentment from their daughter.
Her parents didn't allow her to spent a single day more than the days she was permitted to.
Not because they didn't wanted so but, they were like, 'Sasural wale naraz honge'.
Wait! Why should a girl need a permission to live with her own parents?
Recalling those memories made me ponder at my situation. Would I be treated the same way?
Will my mother too think of me as an outsider, after my marriage?
Their love, compassion and preference towards me would be changed.
So many questions bothering me but can't muster up the courage to ask this from my mother because, how she would give me these answers when she herself didn't knew the answers?

a daughter and a would-be-bride👰

Two days later, she visited her mother's house for Pag pheras. While leaving, her mother embraced her tightly in her arms and whispered in her ears, "You are not a visitor in this house, nor you'll be treated as."
She looked at her mom in amazement and said, "You read my diary, mom? This is not fair!"
"Ah! Dear, you are the same daughter and a friend for me. Now, why are you being so formal!?"
Both giggled! Their laughter astonished everyone.
